Extreme Multitasking: It's Not What It's Cracked Up To Be

The joke of saying that studying is the act of texting, eating, and watching TV with an open textbook nearby, is also one of the answers to a problem that runs through our sociary: extreme multitasking. The answer, of course, is that we all need to stop doing two or more things at once. While you might already be claiming that it’s better that single-tasking, or that it works for you, I’m guessing that your blogging, surfing, and homework histories would reveal the opposite. It doesn’t make getting your homework done easier; it makes your time more enjoyable. Of course, that enjoyment only lasts until the homework backs up and you’re left with multiple all nighters, gallons of caffeine, and mountains of junk food make you miserable and sick.

I have so many different things to do and I don’t know where to start!

More advice for procrastinators: Just because you should arrange your work time so that you do the worst of your homework first doesn’t mean that you have to make yourself miserable. Work with your procrastinating habit by arranging to work for 20 minutes, then take an eight to ten minute break: stretch, get another class of water, dance around to a song, wipe down the counter, whatever works for you. You’ll be doing at least 40 minutes of work each hour, and you can engage that work with a refreshed mind. But remember, you have to work for those 20 minutes, and relax for the 8 to 10 in between!

Opinion pieces: How to know you’re off topic and how to get back on topic.

Students sometimes struggle to see the difference between expanding on their topic and being off topic, especially in opinion pieces. They make the mistake of thinking that an opinion can’t be wrong and some even try to deceive their readers by making a controversial or even hateful statement and then saying it is an opinion (it’s just my opinion that women are terrible drivers, why are you getting so mad?) The poor grades they receive as a result are often met with shock, sometimes hostility.

I have no idea what I want to do

Fortunately, even the things we find least interesting interact with countless other fields, including those that interest or fascinate us. In addition, PowerPapers.com engages a variety of subjects, in a variety of ways. Even if you have tried and come up empty, it doesn’t mean that we can’t help you. Feel free to get in touch and ask us to take some of the weight off.

Picking a Topic: Your Favorites Aren’t Always Best

Professional writers like ours have these skills in spades and can come up with topics in no time. When you place your order, you may want to begin by having the writer create a two or three page foundation paper, upon which you can expand with your own writing and ideas. There are many ways that professional writers and researchers can help you get from being trapped in front of the TV with your laptop to having a successful, appropriate college paper that meets your needs.

Two Mistakes that Slow You Down and Make Writing More Unpleasant

Even for professionals like those at PowerPapers.com, there are times when writing itself is so stressful, you persuade yourself to go forward by indulging a few whims. Working in front of the television and saving the references for last, are to writing what candy is to the body, better as an occasional sprinkle than a foundation.

The Most Common Student Writing Mistakes

The staff of PowerPapers are not only skilled writers, but many are also professional editors. More commonly known as grammar nerds, these individuals are familiar with the most common errors and can get your paper polished and perfected in (almost) no time!

Documenting Sources

When you conceptualize documentation styles as basic format changes, learning more than one style doesn’t seem so daunting. Format styles primarily vary in their placement of punctuation, italics or underlining, and a few minor page styles (i.e. margins, page numbers, etc.). Incorrectly formatting papers often results in significant deductions for students’ grades. Why not let our experts help with the technicalities? We can help with your paper from start to finish or we can edit your piece to ensure proper formatting. Contact us today to get started.
