Orientation Week

It isn’t just a big piss-up! Today’s campuses are huge labyrinths to discover and navigate; the volume of information about resources, facilities and requirements is massive. So, make new friends and enjoy the social aspects of orientation week but, before the hard core study begins, don’t miss out on the truly important stuff (that is the end of my nag blog lol).

Ways to Learn

A different style for different smiles applies to learning. Knowing your personal style can prevent frustration and make picking up subject material easier. So how do you know what your personal learning style is? Even more importantly, how does a tactile learner capture and hold material from a talky teacher, or an auditory learner from a teacher that provides lots of reading, and so forth?

Cool Gadgets!

In a perfect world we all have these sexy toys at school! These are a few of the amazing new inventions on the market to help with study and relaxation.

Research Strategies for Students

Begin with a plan or a working outline. Assess the questions you have been tasked to answer, or the proposal you have put forth, and brainstorm ideas about how to approach the topic or data. Consider what surveys, panels or research sources will be required to provide the most comprehensive information. Once the big picture has been considered you are ready to begin - armed with your well conceived and prepared plan.

Broadband and Mobile Communications

Every student needs broadband and mobile. There is just no getting around it. Research would be unbelievably onerous without the ability to surf for information or access library materials online. Despite the necessity of mobile communications and high speed internet scholarships, subsidies and grants do not generally take into account these essential expenses so it is pretty important to shop around for the best deal.

Student Jobs

For students in high school, college and university finding a part-time or summer job is essential for making ends meet and having a little money for entertainment, texting, clothes and the other very important things in life.

Back Up!

Ever gotten say, 2000 words into a really important thesis or proposal when the computer crashes and you lose everything? Anyone who has will tell you there isn’t anything worse.

The Ombudsman

Most Colleges and University’s have an organizational Ombudsman. This is a neutral person charged with the responsibility of resolving disputes.

Varsity Sports

Students who are into their sports and who play competitively no doubt have a cutting edge over others in terms of physical health which likely translates into better mental health, but they also have the added pressure of additional commitments.

Student Products and Discounts

You may not know it but there is an overabundance of bargains and discounts available exclusively to students which provide huge opportunities to purchase top grade equipment, software and other stuff cheaply.
